Monte Hellman, a cult figure in the world of movies, will direct Desperadoes, adapted from the book by Ron Hansen. The novel chronicles the adventures of the notorious US Dalton robbing gang.
Charles Eastman is adapting Hansen’s work, which charts Bob Dalton’s romance with Eugenia Moore, who ended up helping him and his brother rob trains.
Among other work, Hellman directed Two-Lane Blacktop and served – without credit – as the second-unit director for Robocop.
