Gina Gershon, Robert Patrick and Danny Glover are all signing on to lead the cast of indie drama Five Minarets In New York.

It’s not a mis-spelling, and not a rom-com: Five Minarets is the English-language debut of Turkish writer/director Mahsun Kirmizigul, who scored acclaim for his film I SawThe Sun, which served as Turkey’s Oscar submission last year.

Gershon has nabbed the role of Maria, a woman married to a Turkish scholar who is arrested by US government agents (We’re guessing this is where at least Patrick and possibly also Glover factor into the plot) when she’s wrongfully accused of a crime.

There’s no word on when the movie will kick off shooting, but given that title, we expect it’ll film around the Big Apple shortly.
