Everybody's favourite bearded director, George Lucas, announced today that he's to join the board of governors at Bafta. Lucas, who received the Stanley Kubrick Britannia Award for Excellence in Film from Bafta's Los Angeles branch earlier this year, will join his good friends Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg on the LA board. 'I have spent a tremendous amount of my time working with the British film industry,' Lucas said. 'I feel that the talent in the UK is among the top in the world. I am honoured to be invited to join the Board of Governors for Bafta/LA.' Other members of the board include Sir Michael Caine and Anthony Hopkins.
