As well as having one of the best names in show business right now, Genesis Rodriguez is enjoying a healthy push on the career front. Her latest job will see her starring opposite Paul Walker in indie thriller Hours.

**Final Destination 5 **/ The Thing writer Eric Heisserer is stepping up to call the shots. He'll be directing from his own script for a story that sees Walker fighting to keep his newborn daughter alive in a New Orleans hospital that has been ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. It’s a definite gearshift for the scribe, who has largely been found putting out horror franchise efforts.

Rodriguez last showed up on screen as Jamie Bell’s partner in crime in Man On A Ledge and has at least two notable films in her future. She’ll play Sonia in madcap Spanish language Will Ferrell comedy Casa De Mi Padre and crops up in What To Expect When You’re Expecting (which just gave birth to a new trailer this very day). The actress has also just finished working alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger on The Last Stand.

Assuming everything falls into place, Heisserer should be cranking the cameras at some point this month in Louisiana.
