Gary Fleder, who last made American football biopic **The Express **has signed on to direct the thriller Protection for 20th Century Fox.
The script, written by Mark Bomback, sees a college professor trying to track down his missing wife and daughter, only to discover that he’ll have to go up against the Witness Protection Programme to find clues as to their whereabouts. And they, as anyone who’s seen the Cape Feare episode of The Simpsons will tell you, can be a tricky bunch.
Since his last film job, Fleder has been spending some time working on launching TV shows, but now also has another thriller – **Darkling Cove **– on its way through development.
It remains to be seen which film will make it to the production finish line first.
