It has felt like this moment might never arrive – even given her appearance in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice – but finally it’s happening: the Wonder Woman film is now shooting, and star Gal Gadot has posted the first official image from the movie on Twitter.
While we got a glimpse behind the scenes at Chris Pine and fellow actor Said Taghmaoui in an image that was quickly withdrawn (but remains archived here), this is the first proper look at Wonder woman herself in the film, cloaked and with a hazy London behind her.
Though the plot is still under wraps for now, the story is expected to show how she meets Pine’s Steve Trevor and ends up travelling from her Amazonian home to the outside world. With Patty Jenkins directing a script by Jason Fuchs, we also now know that the cast includes Gadot, Pine, Taghmaoui, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis. The cameras are cranking now and Wonder Woman will be in American cinemas on June 23, 2017, but doesn’t appear to have pencilled in a UK date just yet. Still, we’ll get to meet the character in Batman V Superman on March 25.
