About a month ago, the first teaser, which featured no actual footage from the film, heralded the arrival of Christopher Guest's new comedy, Mascots. The full trailer for the movie is now online for your chuckling pleasure.
Mascots finds Guest once digging into a relatively niche subject to extract warm laughs. In this case, it's the competitive field of sports mascots, who take their dancing, gesticulating and crowd-wrangling duties just as seriously as the athletes. Especially when it comes to their own awards, the Fluffies.
Guest has such regulars as Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Ed Begley Jr., Michael Hitchcock, Jennifer Coolidge, Bob Balaban and Jim Piddock in this one, along with more recent recruit Chris O'Dowd as a mascot with a temper and Love & Friendship/David Brent: Life On The Road's Tom Bennett as a costumed character with some addiction issues.
We're supremely hopeful for this one, particular thanks to the presence of Silicon Valley's Zach Woods and consistent comedy generator Sarah Baker. Mascots hits Netflix everywhere on October 13.
