After the huge success of The Inbetweeners Movie and** In The Loop **- as well as the hype around the upcoming **Alan Partridge **movie - perhaps it should come as no surprise that other British comedy series are eyeing up a big screen adaptation, including Sam Bain's university-set show Fresh Meat.

Speaking to ScreenDaily{ =nofollow}, Bain has said he and his team were weighing up just how you'd take the likes of Jack Whitehall's bantersaurus JP and Zawe Ashton's amazingly-named Vod into a cinematic setting.

“We have been having chats about a Fresh Meat film and we’re working on a couple of ideas,” said Bain. “The challenge with a film – and we’re wrestling with this at the moment so we don’t have any answers – is that you want it to be bigger but you also don’t want to destroy the essence of the show you’ve created."

The Inbetweeners and** In the Loop** are good examples of characters going on holiday so that is one option we’re looking at. But we don’t want it to feel like they’ve stopped being the characters from Fresh Meat so it’s a difficult balance to get right.”

Sam Bain has form in the writing-for-feature-films department, working with his writing partner Jesse Armstrong for both 2007's Magicians - starring their Peep Show stars David Mitchell and Robert Webb - and 2010's Four Lions (alongside its director Chris Morris).

He also mentioned to ScreenDaily that he has another feature film in the works, though he was unwilling to share any details. More news on that - as well as the **Fresh Meat **movie - as we get it, and in the meantime, be sure to follow Sam Bain via Twitter and have a look at our set-visit report here...
