G ard Depardieu, star of Cyrano de Bergerac, Jean de Florette and the forthcoming 102 Dalmations is recovering in hospital in Paris after undergoing a heart bypass. The 51 year old star was admitted for surgery after suffering from chest pains. The operation was a success, a doctor from the Foch hospital said, and Depardieu is expected to make a full recovery. He recently appeared at the Cannes film festival, alongside co-star Uma Thurman, to promote the historical drama Vatel.
