The Farrelly Brothers, whose stream of low-brow hits (Dumb and Dumber; Kingpin) seem to have plumbed new depths with the upcoming, hilarious, There's Something About Mary, have admitted that many of the scenarios in their movies have happened to themselves, or people they know, in real life. The one they've referred to in recent interviews is relatively tame - a genitals-caught-in-flies situation from There's Something About Mary - but it makes you wonder what kind of lives the boys lead.
