Last year's Tomb Raider reboot debut to seriously mixed reviews, and while it made some money at the box office, didn't seem to have performed well enough to immediately make executives leap for the sequel trigger. Yet Warner Bros. still apparently has faith in the new incarnation of Lara Croft, and has hired Free Fire/High-Rise writer Amy Jump to start work on a second film.

Which means we'll likely see the return of Alicia Vikander's Lara, who aimed to be a grittier version of the character whilst maintaining her adventurous spirit. According to Deadline, Vikander liked what Jump brought to the table, so now the gears are starting to turn. The first film ended up with $274 million in the bank worldwide.

Jump is best known as the filmmaking partner/wife of Ben Wheatley, having written or co-written several of his films and edited both Free Fire and High-Rise. The pair's next dilm in the works is Freak Shift, now in pre-production.
