And yea, it came to pass that no one did learn the lessons of Dogma, and they did produce of the comedy that makes light of religious issues.

Yes, clearly producers Will Ferrell and Adam McKay – not to mention writer/creator Chris Henchy – aren’t worried about the protestor-bait they’ve cooked up with Church Of Steve.

It’s a half-hour comedy pilot for the US Fox network that has a regular bloke from New Jersey discovering he’s a descendent of Jesus. According to Henchy, the Steve character won’t be performing miracles or strolling along his local lake, and the script – or the pilot, at least – won’t confirm if he really is related to JC.

But let’s face it, this is Fox we’re talking about, the channel that shows Family Guy in the States. We think they’re used to a little controversy.
