Alexander Payne has nabbed four new cast members for his new drama, The Descendants, which already stars George Clooney. Judy Greer, Robert Forster, Matthew Lillard and Beau Bridges are all off to Hawaii to start shooting this week.
Based on Kaui Hart Hemmings’ novel, the plot sees Clooney as a husband and father who has always slacked off his family duties. But that changes when his wife is seriously hurt in a boating accident off of the island of Waikiki.
Shailene Woodley, Mary Birdsong, Nick Krause and Amara Miller are already all aboard the film, which Payne wrote with Nat Foxon and Jim Rash. Given that this is the director’s first film since Sideways, we’re eager to see what he’s ready to bring to the screen.
