Ask yourself this very simple question – who in their right mind decided that what we really, really need is a new entry in the American Pie franchise. Anyone? Anyone? No? Didn’t think so.
But while it’s debatable whether the world can survive American Pie 5: The Naked Mile (we’re not making this up, but The Hollywood Reporter might be just to make us cry), Erik Lindsay, whose spec was genetically mutated into that film, has sold another film to Focus Features. The company apparently liked Mile so much (ooh, now we can’t wait) that it has also nabbed its director Joe Nussbaum to helm the new movie.
The plot of Cougars is – as usual – under more wraps than Sony’s latest piece of games hardware, but we do know it focuses on a late 20’s male, instead of the usual high school hi-jinks or college capers. There’s no cast attached yet.
