Escape Rooms have become a big sensation in the last few years, with people queuing up to risk claustrophobia and disagreements, solving puzzles and riddles to win their freedom. It was only a matter of time before someone used the concept to fuel a horror movie. Check out the first trailer for Escape Room.
The set up here is relatively simple – six strangers, played by the likes of Deborah Ann Woll, Jay Ellis, Taylor Russell, Logan Miller and Taylor Labine are invited to take part in a complicated escape room. But it's not long before they discover that whoever is behind this room knows more about them than they expected, and if they want to survive, they'll have to figure out what that means...
Initially coming off a little like Saw meets The Crystal Maze, it remains to be seen if, like video games, translating playing a game like this versus watching others go through it, works on screen. The movie will be out on 1 February next year.
