Gangs Of London

When you have The Raid's Gareth Evans cooking up a TV show, you know there are going to be some fast, stylish and creative action scenes. But with the longer running time of telly comes the chance to deepen character and explore more themes. Be ready for both, then, now that Gangs Of London has a first trailer.

The story sees the head of a criminal organisation (Colm Meaney) assassinated. The sudden power vacuum his death creates threatens the fragile peace between the intricate web of gangs operating on the streets of London. Now, the grieving, volatile and impulsive Sean Wallace (Joe Cole) tries to restore control and find those responsible for killing his father.

The likes of Michelle Fairley, Asif Raza, Mark Lewis Jones and Valene Kane also star, and alongside Evans on the directing roster are Corin Hardy and Xavier Gens, while Matt Flannery co-created the series with his regular Raid cohort.

There doesn't appear to be a specific launch date for the series (Sky Atlantic still just says "coming soon"), but it'll be in the UK this year with a US airdate (via co-producers Cinemax) shortly thereafter.
