An Inconvenient Sequel

Back in 2006, former US Vice President Al Gore brought the world a warning about climate change and pollution via An Inconvenient Truth. He was probably hoping that would help spur more progress on environmental issues than it has, so he's back with a new documentary, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth To Power. The trailer is below.

While the original, Oscar-winning documentary came via director Davis Guggenheim, this one is by Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk. With a decade having passed since Truth's dire warnings about rising sea levels and environmental chaos, the new film aims to strike a more hopeful tone about the changes put in place and how close the world is to a real energy revolution.

An Inconvenient Sequel is also, in some respects, about Gore himself as he champions his cause and explores ways in which the challenges are being overcome. Of course, there is also a less positive coda focusing on the current incumbent of the White House and that administration's slash-and-burn approach to regulations...

The film will be out in the States on 28 July and arrives in the UK on 25 August.
