After two CG/live-action hybrids, Sony decided last year to stop pushing the characters into the real world and plump instead for an all-animated adventure once called Get Smurfy. Now known as Smurfs: The Lost Village, the little blue creatures are here with a teaser trailer that might make you think differently about flora.

The Lost Village sees Smurfette (Demi Lovato) coming into possession of a mysterious map which purports to show the location of a strange lost village. She, along with Brainy (Danny Pudi), Clumsy (Jack McBrayer) and Hefty (Joe Manganiello) head off through the Forbidden Forest to find it before the evil wizard Gargamel (Rainn Wilson) can. What secrets does the village conceal? And how will it impact our heroes? No one knows, but apparently they'll have to deal with gloop-spewing flowers along the way...

With Shrek veteran and Gnomeo & Juliet director Kelly Asbury overseeing this one and Mandy Patinkin lending his particular vocal tones to Papa Smurf, The Lost Village will be out in the UK on March 31 next year.
