He hasn't quite gone the writer/director route of fellow rocker Rob Zombie, but guitar hero Slash launched his own horror movie production company, SlashFiction, back in 2010. The first fruit of that labour was last year's Nothing Left To Fear, directed by Anthony Leonardi III. Now here's a teaser for the next one, The Hell Within.

"When I read the script for The Hell Within I knew it was the right project for my taste," says the top-hatted rock'n'roll producer. "I love monsters and practical effects, so it spoke to my horror sensibilities. And it's a story I know horror fans will dig as well."

That story involves a New York woman, Marie, heading into the Brazilian jungle to save a missing child following some mysterious phonecalls, but finding that's only the beginning of an ordeal. Marie and her husband David get stranded in Seringal, a village overrun with drug runners and lost souls, steeped in ritual and superstition. And David falls prey to a mysterious disease.

Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train) wrote the screenplay and Dennison Ramalho (The ABCs Of Death 2's J Is For Jesus segment) will direct. And yes, we say will: the footage released above seems to be explicitly for the promo and the crowdfunding campaign. Shooting proper is pencilled in for the start of next year in Chile and Colombia.
