As director Dean DeBlois showed off the first footage from the latest How To Train Your Dragon entry (the third, subtitled The Hidden World) in April the world outside DreamWorks Animation got to see a little of the movie's new characters, including a White Fury, a version of Toothless' breed and a mate for him to fall for. The first poster for the film shows her off to much better effect.
The movie finds Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) as chief of the village on the island of Berk, now a peaceful utopia where vikings and dragons live side by side. But when his faithful dragon pal's attention is drawn away by the enchanting new friend and a luminescent, hitherto undiscovered land of the creatures, both of them will be tested.
Hiccup faces challenges to his leadership and there are other threats on the horizon. With Gerard Butler, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, America Ferrera and Christopher Mintz-Plasse among the returning voices, How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World lands in UK cinemas on 1 February next year. And we can expect the trailer this time next week.
