"I just want a simple life," says Sandra Bullock, rocking an orange prison jumpsuit. "Hold down a job, make some friends, y'know, pay my bills..." The plan she has in mind to achieve that, however, is a daring heist, and you can glean some of the details, and a look at Bullock and her cohorts in action, in the first trailer for Ocean's 8, which has just arrived online.
The new story is not a remake or reboot of the Ocean's films, but rather a new chapter, a spin-off. As you'll just have seen, it follows Danny Ocean's sister Debbie (Bullock), who gets out of prison and starts to plan a heist involving a priceless necklace and the prestigious Met Gala in New York.
The team she puts together includes Lou (Cate Blanchett), Nine Ball (Rihanna), Amita (Mindy Kaling), Constance (Awkwafina), Rose (Helena Bonham Carter), Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), and Tammy (Sarah Paulson).
Gary Ross replaces Steven Soderbergh as the director for this one, and it's due out next June.
