As you'll see, The Joker seems to have given our new favourite actor (we sometimes watch that Dark Knight trailer just to lift us on a bad day, in the same way that women buy shoes and old people write letters of complaint) a lingering taste for the bizarre.
Dr. Parnassus is the story of the owner of a bizarre travelling show who has won immortality in a bet with the devil. Upon meeting his true love he makes another deal with the devil, agreeing to give Mr Nick his first child on her 16th birthday in return for eternal youth. Ledger plays a man aiming to rescue said daughter from the clutch of evil so that he might win her hand in marriage. The whole thing sounds bizarre and therefore we can't wait.
