Representing the polar opposite of her glamorous (if uncannily de-aged) turn in Aquaman, here's Nicole Kidman the serious character actor, in the final trailer for Destroyer. Already picking up raves on the festival circuit, the dark drama is directed by Karyn Kusama, who previously brought us Girlfight, The Invitation and Jennifer's Body.
The film finds Kidman as LAPD detective Erin Bell who, earlier in her career, was placed undercover with a cult-like gang in the California desert. The case ended in tragedy, but when the leader of the gang remerges on to law enforcement's radar years later, she has to work her way through the surviving members to track them down, confronting the demons of her own past.
With a script from Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, the cast also includes Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford and Sebastian Stan. Destroyer is out in the UK on 25 January.
