Baseball is providing the fodder for yet another American sports dram - Sean Astin and Deadwood's Powers Boothe have signed on to The Final Season.
The movie will chronicle the true story of an Iowa high school baseball team who overcame daunting odds to become huge champions of the sport across two decades.
"The struggle to succeed tied into America's greatest Heartland pastime," producer Michael Wasserman told The Hollywood Reporter. "Having Powers and Sean headlining our film is just incredible."
There’s no director yet, but Art D’Alessandro has written the script.
