The film company that was discovered making up its own reviews last year has been fined $326,000 by the state of Connecticut. Sony was rumbled when two employees admitted to using quotes from a made-up reviewer to promote movies including Vertical Limit and Hollow Man. Some might say that given those calibre of movies, the company were entitled to do all they could in the manner of flogging a dead horse, but the court decided otherwise. 'Sony deserves credit for acting to prevent this type of deception,' the State's Attorney General said, adding that 'the whole industry may need a reality check. Deceptive ads, designed to lure moviegoers, have no legitimate place in the entertainment business.' It's the second settlement on this matter for Sony, which paid a sum to the state of Oregon back last Summer and is will be appearing in court this Summer for a false-advertising lawsuit in Los Angeles.
