Fast Five Trailer Drives In

In an unusual move, Universal are allowing Vin Diesel to premiere the trailer for the latest instalment of the petrol head Fast & Furious franchise, Fast Five, on his Facebook site.

This latest entry finds Diesel’s Dom Toretto and Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor on the run from two very different enemies – one is a corrupt business tycoon and dodgy dealer who would really like to see them sent to the big garage in the sky. The other is hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) a man with a driven determination to always catch the criminals he’s assigned to find.

The stage is set for a triple-headed confrontation that roars through Brazil as Toretto and O’Connor gather a motley crew made up of old friends and associates to help them stay alive. Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Elsa Pataky, Gal Gadot and Matt Schulze are among those along for the ride.

And the trailer delivers pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a new Furious film – fast cars, lots of Kaboom, and grunting sweaty blokes barking lines at each other. Plus with even crazier stunts than usual – two vehicles dragging a safe, anyone? Oh, and Dwayne Johnson's line about "never, ever let them get into cars" rather makes it sound like Toretto & O'Connor are the action film version of Gizmo from Gremlins...

Throw your eyes across the trailer then let us know what you think. Fast Five arrives on June 10.
