Farrelly Brothers Like Beaujolais

Rednecks are funny. On this we can surely all agree. They have funny accents, their total number of teeth are generally in the single digits and they have loose rules about levels of affection that are appropriate with blood relatives*. They may well have been invented for the Farrelly brothers to make movies about.

The brothers, Peter and Bobby, are planning to produce, but apparently not direct, Beaujolais, which concerns the trailer-living Americans. Fox bought the script, written by Mike Arnold and Chris Poole, which is described as a redneck action adventure with similarities to Austin Powers or Ace Ventura. From this we can deduce that the protagonist will be dumb.

*Yes, this is a stereotype, but we've learned all about rednecks from The Simpsons and the movies. If there have been films about rocket scientist rednecks, we've missed them. Also, we're kidding.
