Wes Bentley, the scene stealing voyeur-next-door from American Beauty, is rumoured to be the choice leading man for Queen of the Damned, another vampire flick based on gothic writer Anne Rice's blockbusting bloodsucker saga. The Hollywood Reporter says that Wes is yet to confirm the role, where he'll play the Vampire Lestat (played by the Cruiser in Interview With A Vampire), but no director is attached as yet. In this chapter of the undead heroes career, he's a rock star who awakens the Queen of the Vampires - so like Spinal Tap, his amp will be on '11'.
Prior to sharpening his fangs, Bentley will also be seen in Michael Winterbottom's Kingdom Come, a wild west adaptation of Thomas Hardy's novel The Mayor of Casterbridge, plus a teen market horror called Soul Survivors, in which he co-stars with Ben Affleck's baby 'bro, Casey.
