Lauded at Sundance and more recently at the SXSW fest for its creeping dread and inventive horror, writer/director Ari Aster's Hereditary is crossing the pond to terrify UK audiences, and the trailer is now online.
Hereditary finds the Graham family – mother Annie (Toni Collette), father Steve (Gabriel Byrne) and kids Peter (Alex Wolff) and Charlie (Milly Shapiro) – in mourning after the death of Annie's mum.
To make matters worse, they start to unravel cryptic and increasingly scary secrets about their family and ancestry, plunged into trying to avoid a sinister fate. It's best to go into this one without knowing too much, and the trailer keeps things mostly mysterious.
UK audiences will see this one from 15 June.
