Director talks digital film and the future

The gargantuan fight scenes in his stunning, new epic Gangs of New York may have been painstakingly captured on good old celluloid, but Martin Scorsese's not one to turn a blind face to new technology, as Empire found out recently when we asked the veteran director for his views on digital film. While he insisted he feels "film still has more definition, more power" than its newfangled digital cousin, Scorsese acknowledged that he's more than interested in the new form.
