Co-produced by the legendary (and currently-on-hiatus) animation house Studio Ghibli, The Red Turtle has received a lot of attention lately. That attention only grew when it was nominated for Best Animated Feature at this year's Academy Awards, in a hugely competitive category. Now it's finally getting a UK cinema release, and we have an exlusive clip. Take a look below.

Uniquely, The Red Turtle features no dialogue. Despite its international heritage (the director, Michael Dudok de Wit, is Dutch-British, and the film is both French and Japanese-produced), there are no subtitles needed. It tells the simple story of a man who wakes up on a desert island to befriend a giant red turtle.

After many wondered whether the world would ever see another Studio Ghibli film, this will be a rare treat. The Red Turtle arrives in UK cinemas from 26 May.
