Star upset by Academy's decision on Moulin song

Empire Online caught up with Ewan McGregor at this weekend's European Film Awards in Berlin, and asked the actor how he felt about the news that his Moulin Rouge duet with Nicole Kidman wasn't going to be up for an Oscar this year. 'It's a pain isn't it?' was McGregor's take on the subject. It's ineligible because it was written for Romeo & Juliet... I guess therefore it's not original.' Clearly the American Academy's decision not to accept Come What May as a contender for the Best Song Oscar wasn't a popular one in this camp. 'It's all stupid, it's silly. I would have liked it to have been up for the award.'
