Not many details have been released as yet, but Eric Roberts has told the LA Daily News that he is set to play a Mafia boss in Batman Returns sequel, The Dark Knight.

Yes, it looks like Julia's brother and Emma's dad (his daughter is starring in the upcoming Nancy Drew film) will be taking the sort of role played by Tom Wilkinson in the first film - but we'd guess he's going to find himself in trouble with the Joker (Heath Ledger) rather than Batman (Christian Bale) himself. However, that's pure speculation so don't quote us on that (or if you do, don't stake our reputation on it).

Roberts is currently appearing in both Heroes and The L Word, and was most recently seen on the big screen in the so-dreadful-it's-the-funniest-film-in-years martial arts effort DOA: Dead Or Alive.
