This year brought an embarrassment of cinematic riches – just take a look at our Best Movies of 2018 list. But now with the new year looming we’re looking to the future, to the coming 12 months and the thrilling original movies, epic sequels and reimaginings due to splash across the big screen in 2019. The February 2019 issue of Empire, hitting newsstands on Thursday 27 December, is our Ultimate 2019 Preview edition – and while we’ll leave you in anticipation of the movies we’re most excited about, you can (easily) guess a few of them from the exclusive subscriber cover, with a stunning pencil illustration by Paul Ryding.
You don’t have to be particularly eagle-eyed to spot the all-new Hellboy there at the top, accompanied by the likes of Captain America, Pennywise, Godzilla, Rey and Kylo Ren, the Split gang, and John Wick among others – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
