It’s a busy day for casting stories involving a talented actress and director Denis Villeneuve. Earlier today, word arrived that Amy Adams was circling one of his future projects, sci-fi drama Story Of Your Life. Here comes Variety with news that Emily Blunt is in talks for the director’s next film, the thriller **Sicaro.

Taylor Sheridan penned this script, which follows a law enforcement type from Arizona who heads across the border to Mexico alongside a pair of mercenaries on the trail of a drug lord. We’ll put good money that things become violent at some point in the film. Especially since "sicaro" translates to hit man, murderer or assassin. No word yet on which role Blunt will take.

Villeneuve is setting up a hectic schedule for himself, planning to make Sicaro later this summer before turning his attention to Story, which he will shoot early in 2015. Blunt, meanwhile, will be seen in two hefty films, with Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller Edge Of Tomorrow set to land on May 30 and Rob Marshall’s new all-star Stephen Sondheim musical adaptation Into The Woods, which is out on January 9 next year and will see her playing The Baker’s Wife.
