Another week, another report of Susan Sarandon starring in a film alongside a British actress.

This time the Brit in question is The Devil Wears Prada’s Emily Blunt. She’s joining Sarandon in playwright and Proof scribe David Auburn’s directorial debut The Girl In The Park, based on his script.

Sarandon plays Julia Sandburg, a woman traumatised by the disappearance of her 3-year-old daughter 15 years ago. She’s cut herself from everyone, even her husband and son, hiding behind an emotional wall of despair.

But then she meets Louise (Blunt), a young woman with a tattered past and Julia is thrown into confusion, believing that she might be the missing daughter. Auburn and co start shooting in New York this autumn.
