Can Skynet’s cyborg killing machines withstand a dragon’s flames? It appears they might need to. Game Of Thrones' Daenerys Targaryen – AKA actress Emilia Clarke – has scored the role of Sarah Connor in the Terminator reboot, currently titled **Terminator: Genesis.

Her casting follows Jason Clarke entering negotiations to play John Connor, which is aimed at rebooting the Terminator concept, kicking off a new trilogy franchise and, it’s hoped, launching a TV series at the same time. Of course, that will depend on how the first film performs.

Right now, the job of making it work is down to Thor: The Dark World’s Alan Taylor, working from a script by Patrick Lussier and Laeta Kalogridis. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Terminator series stalwart, is set to return in some capacity, though plot details are being kept quiet for now.

With the Connors effectively cast, the final main piece still to be slotted in is someone to play Kyle Reese, the soldier from the apocalyptic future Earth sent back in time by John to protect Sarah in her younger days when Skynet decides to off her and stop the human resistance before it begins. According to Variety, the likes of Nicholas Hoult and Garrett Hedlund are under consideration.

**Terminator: Genesis **(or whatever it ends up being called), is set to arrive on June 26, 2015.
