With filming on his big return to the action horror genre Army Of The Dead set to kick off in July, Zack Snyder has been busy finding the people he needs to deal with a swarm of zombies. Ella Purnell has landed a key role as Dave Bautista's daughter.
And she's not the only actor who has joined the cast, as Ana De La Reguera, Theo Rossi and Huma Qureshi are all aboard. Squatting on his To Do list since at least the days of Watchmen, the film has a script currently written by the director and Shay Hatten and finds Purnell's Kate headed into a dangerous, quarantined Las Vegas, site of a zombie outbreak, intending to discover the source of the undead problem. When she becomes trapped in the zone, her dad (Bautista) assembles a group of mercenaries to help rescue her, with the gang tempted by the chance to rob the casinos while they're there.
Purnell is at work on the second series of TV's Sweetbitter. Army Of The Dead has yet to announce a launch date, but the movie will likely show up on Netflix next year.
