The cast of Easter Bunny comedy I Hop has just increased by one: Elizabeth Perkins has signed on.

Perkins has been appearing for five years on comedy drama Weeds, but has now decided to leave the show. And her first movie since moving on is this live action/CG blend comedy, which sees a slacker (James Marsden) accidentally running over the Easter Bunny’s son (voiced by Russell Brand). Because this is the sort of high concept comedy where it happens, he has to take over the rabbit’s seasonal duty to save Easter for all the kiddies.

To be honest, we’re having trouble getting excited for this one – despite some decent casting (including The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco and Perkins as Marsden's mother), it sounds like another version of The Santa Clause with a different holiday.

Still, co-writer Bryan Lynch has been tweeting from the set and he’s pretty amusing, so maybe there’s hope…
