Matt Le Blanc, who jetted into Britain for the launch of Lost In Space, was met by Mark Lamarr-style groupies screaming his name. At the same time, Stephen Hopkins, the director of the film, was busy embarrassing him by admitting that neither he nor the film company wanted the Friends star to get the part, because they didn't want a sitcom star in the film.
