We're all spoiled for weather info these days, where we can just flick on the TV or check our phones to receive (largely) reliable updates about whether it's going to be blazing hot or chuck it down. But it wasn't so easy in the 19th century, when meteorological science was in its infancy. And big risks were taken by the likes of James Glaisher (Eddie Redmayne) and Amelia Wren (Felicity Jones). See the new trailer for The Aeronauts.

Directed by Wild Rose's Tom Harper, the film reunites the stars of The Theory Of Everything for this latest based-on-truth tale. The Aeronauts sees Glaisher looking to find both funding and a pilot for his ambitious experiment, flying a hot air balloon higher than anyone has travelled to conduct his research. After much derision and disbelief from colleagues, he lucks into a collaboration with daredevil pilot Wren, who agrees to fly the balloon. Cue a high-altitude, even higher-risk journey where the elements are your enemy and oxygen starvation is a very real threat.

With a script by Jack Thorne, the film also features Himesh Patel, Tom Courtenay and Tim McInnerny, and it'll float into UK cinemas on 4 November before heading to the States on 6 December ahead of its landing on Amazon's Prime Video service on 20 December.
