Clint Eastwood has spoken out against Hollywood, claiming that "agesim is the buzzword" for the studios. Speaking at the Venice Film Festival, where he is to receive a lifetime achievement award, the 70 year old star said "You get a little older and they want you to play roles 20 years younger, which is ridiculous." Although perhaps not as ridiculous as 1999's True Crime in which Eastwood's love interests were played by 40 year old Laila Robins, and 30 year old Mary McCormack. Eastwood is also in Venice to promote the upcoming Space Cowboys, which he directed and stars in alongside fellow 'mature' actors James Garner, Donald Sutherland and Tommy Lee Jones. Between the four of them they manage to clock up an impressive 262 years. Space Cowboys is released in the UK on 15 September.
