Blockbuster and Philips Electronics are getting together in the States to create a programme that lets Blockbuster customers rent DVD players and disks at more than 300 stores. The players are expected to rent for about $15. Blockbuster also promised to stock an average of 350 movies on DVD in each of its stores when the player rental program goes into full swing at the end of the year. Don't get excited, though. Since we still can't even rent VCRs on this side of the pond, it's unlikely we'll have a similar deal over here.
