Minnie Driver will join Hilary Swank as she comes over all Erin Brockovich for the legal drama Betty Anne Waters, based on the life of a single mother who spent a decade training to become a lawyer in order to free her imprisoned brother.

Driver, now otherwise known as Eddie Izzard's gypsy wife in The Riches, will step into the role of Abra, an ex wild-child and law school friend of Betty Anne who helped challenge her brother's life sentence with DNA evidence.

Swank, who is currently working on Amelia, the biopic of legendary pilot Amelia Earhart, will look to match Julia Roberts' Oscar winning performance as Brockovich, in the struggling-single-mom-who-challenges-injustice-using-the-legal-system stakes.

Actor-turned-director Tony Goldwyn will direct the movie, which was rescripted by P.S. I Love You writer Richard LaGravenese after a first draft by Pamela Grey. The movie begins shooting in February.
