The promotional campaign for Dredd finally appears to be approaching something close to high gear, what with the trailer arriving in the last couple of weeks. With Comic-Con just around the corner, Lionsgate has revealed a motion poster, which features the iconic lawman doing what he does best: administering gunishment.

With Karl Urban under the helmet as the man himself, Dredd finds the Judge busy doling out tough justice in the harsh cityscape of Mega-City One. While training a new recruit, the psi-powered Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), Dredd endeavours to track down and destroy a terrorism / drug operation run by the devious, powerful Ma-Ma (Lena Headey).

But putting an end to her plans won’t be as easy as snapping cuffs on her (or putting a bullet on her noggin). First they’ll have to fight their way through the huge tower block that Ma-Ma rules, one swarming with heavily-armed thugs.

Peter Travis directed the movie, working from a script by Alex Garland. The official site has also now launched, which features a chance for Con attendees to register for a screening scheduled for the preview night of Wednesday, July 11.

Dredd rides into cinemas on September 7.
