Dragon Ball Heading To The Screen

CHUD.com has learned that James Wong, the director of Final Destination, is set to bring the Dragon Ball animated series to the screen in live-action form.

We have little first-hand knowledge of Dragon Ball, but it was an '80s anime series about a monkey-tailed boy fighting his way around the globe to regain seven mystical balls that could summon a mighty dragon and...well, look, there's a Wikipedia entry hereand if you can make sense of it, you're doing better than us. There's also a bald midget and a green guy in a turban who frowns a lot.

CHUD has also received a casting call – which you can see here – which gives details of which characters will appear. It all sounds so crazy, it could be amazing.

N.B. This story has been edited since earlier this morning as we got our Dragon Balls all arse about face. Apparently, this has nothing to do with the Dragon Ball Z games, which were the only part of the series with which we were familiar. So sorry about that. The game made no sense either, but largely because it was only available on Japanese import and was written in a language we didn't understand.
