The John Wick films have welcomed talented actor/martial artists before, but the fourth outing for the franchise has landed a truly exciting name: Donnie Yen will join Keanu Reeves for some combat chaos.

Yen is making a deal to play an old friend of Reeves' titular assassin, a man who shares his history and some of his enemies. So it looks like Wick will have a little extra kick-ass assistance this time around.

Chad Stahelski is once more gearing up to direct the film, written this time by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. "We are very lucky to have Donnie Yen join the franchise," Stahelski tells Deadline. "I am looking forward to working with him in this exciting new role."

The cameras should be rolling (and the fists flying) this summer in France, Germany and Japan, and Yen's casting is the latest announcement for the film, which has already welcomed Japanese-British pop star Rina Sawayama in her first big movie role. John Wick: Chapter 4 should be in cinemas next May.
