Another day, another Stephen King film adaptation cranking into life. At this rate, there will be no more of his books left to turn into movies and producers will simply wait until he writes a letter to someone. Still, we do at least have short story Mr. Harrigan's Phone, which on the screen will star Donald Sutherland and It's Jaeden Martell.

This latest target was part of King’s anthology collection If It Bleeds, released last year. It tells of a young boy (Martell) who befriends an older, reclusive billionaire, Mr. Harrigan (Sutherland). When the man passes away, the boy discovers that not everything dead is gone and finds himself able to communicate with his friend from the grave through the iPhone that was buried with him.

John Lee Hancock is aboard to direct based on his script, while Jason Blum and Ryan Murphy will produce for Netflix. The cameras should be rolling later this month with the streaming service looking to debut the film in 2022.
