With no piglets, tiggers, or heffalumps in sight, a new biopic about the Winnie The Pooh creator A.A. Milne has just started production, and we've been given our first look at Domhnall Gleeson as the English author, and Margot Robbie as his wife Daphne.

The film, previously titled Goodbye Christopher Robin, currently carries the equally snappy working title of Untitled A.A. Milne Project. It'll obviously have a new title upon release, although it'd be a pretty ballsy move to stick with that one.

Set in the wake of World War I, the film sees Milne (Gleeson) draw inspiration from his son, Christopher Robin (newcomer Will Tilston), and write an immediately beloved children's story.

The Milne family – which includes wife/mother Daphne (Robbie) and nanny Olive (Kelly Macdonald) – are subsequently swept into international literary superstardom, with all of the stresses and strains that brings with it.

Simon Curtis (My Week With Marilyn) is in the director’s chair for this one, working from a script by frequent Danny Boyle collaborator Frank Cottrell Boyce and Simon Vaughan.

Filming began this week. The project does not currently have a release date fixed, but whatever it is eventually called, we’d expect the Untitled A.A. Milne Project to arrive on a blustery day sometime in 2017.
