With the long slog of casting rumours for the new Fantastic Four themselves now behind us, we can enjoy the relatively quick sprint of the rest of the cast falling into place. But there’s still time for some more speculation and shortlist exploration, with The Wrap bringing word that Domhnall Gleeson, Sam Riley, Eddie Redmayne and Toby Kebbell are the four actors Fox is seriously considering to play the heroes’ enemy, Doctor Doom.

While the masked villain traditionally hails from the fictional nation of Latveria, it appears the studio is looking to the very real British Isles for its contenders. All four have some level of heat about them, and have proved their acting chops in recent outings.

Gleeson was last seen in About Time and has Calvary (alongside his father Brendan), Unbroken and** Ex Machina** in his future - and Calvary at least sees him on darker form than we've seen before. Riley appeared in Byzantium and will be part of Suite Francaise and Maleficent. Les Miserables veteran Redmayne will crop up in the Wachowskis’ next sci-fi brain-twister Jupiter Ascending, while Kebbell logged The Counsellor and The East last year and will be seen in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes. He’s currently shooting Warcraft for Duncan Jones.

Whoever nabs the Doom role, they’ll be facing off against Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell as the titular team, with director Josh Trank and producers Simon Kinberg and Matthew Vaughn clearly looking for younger talent that have shown the ability to carry dramatic films. With shooting set for this year, **The Fantastic Four **will be out on June 18, 2015.
